1. Motion in a Straight Line
Motion is a change in position with time. Speed is scalar (distance/time), while Velocity is a vector (displacement/time).
2. Newton's Laws of Motion
- First Law (Law of Inertia): A body remains at rest or in uniform motion unless acted upon by an external force.
- Second Law: The rate of change of momentum is proportional to the applied force (F = ma).
- Third Law: To every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.
3. Work and Power
Work is done when a force moves an object. Work = Fs cosθ. Power is the rate of doing work (P = W/t).
